CHARACTER / SHOW INFO

ALL AUDITIONS

• Applicants must be 15 years of age (At the time of Audition).

• Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your audition time, in order to register etc.

• Wear comfortable clothing and shoes that you are able to move in.

• Be prepared to have fun & show us what you've got.

• All auditions are 10 mins. You will be asked to sing 2 songs.

• You may also be required for a call back, Ensemble Tuesday August 28, Principals Wednesday August 29 7-9pm (you may be released early). ***

• You will be notified by on the audition day if you are required.

SINGING / ACTING

• Prepare 2 songs in different styles (not from the Show) that showcase your voice. ***

• 1 contemporary song - Pop / Rock / Soul / Blues ***

• 1 song from a musical (not Jekyll & Hyde) ***

• If you are stopped before you are finished your song it is no indication of the success of your audition.

• It is most likely you will only sing one song, do not be disappointed if the Production Team do not ask to hear your second song, again this is not an indication of the outcome.

• A piano accompanist is available.

• Backing tracks are permitted.

DANCING / MOVEMENT

• Please be very clear on your audition form regarding previous dance experience, including styles studied and time period (From - To, eg 2003-2007).

• Dance / Movement call will be to gauge your ability to move & pick up instruction.

HINTS & TIPS

• Auditions are never as scary as you think they are going to be! But you can do things to make them slightly easier!

• Choose a song that you really enjoy and know it well.

• Rehearse the song with an accompanist . (There will be an accompanist at auditions)

• Sing it in several different places before the audition day.

• Sing it to some other people before the day.

• Wear comfortable clothes that you think you look good in.

• Come into the audition with high energy ready to try anything new. (You may be asked to try something you think is silly, how you react to requests tells the panel about you as a potential cast member)

• Show the Panel your strengths and enjoy showing them.

• We want you to be good. It’s not a competition. We are looking for members of a team who want to put on a show!

• Research the role you are auditioning for and be realistic in your own capabilities.
